Insurance

Psychological services may be covered by your third party insurance plan. Insurance claims are the responsibility of the patient; services are paid for at the time of the appointment, and a receipt is provided to give to your insurance company.

Psychological associates and psychologists are licenses to provide psychological service in Ontario and have equivalent status for insurance purposes as stated in the College letter to third part insurance carriers.

I am pleased to report the definition of psychologist used in the SABS includes psychological associates. Under the SABS a "psychologist" means a person authorized by law to practise psychology. As both a psychologist and psychological associate are authorized under the Psychology Act to practice they both meet the definition under the SABS.
